Review: Female Force: J.K. Rowling by Adam Gragg

I think it’s safe to say that J.K. Rowling is now a household name after the hugely successful Harry Potter series. What most people don’t know are the struggles Joanne Rowling faced before her success.

From the very beginning, when her parents met, to her life after the 7th Harry Potter book Gragg captures Rowling’s most personal moments in this comic book. We learn how she honed her story telling skills by making up adventures to share with her little sister and neighborhood friends to just when she dreamed up the magical boy that brought her success beyond her wildest dreams. Even though I’m a big Rowling and Potter fan I didn’t realize just how difficult her journey was and reading this comic makes me admire her so much more. This is a recommended read if you love the Potter books or just want to know more Joanne Rowling the person.

Interesting! I didn't read many biographies as a kid but I would have probably picked this up.

Is it a granted biography or a guru one?

Good question Enid but I'm not sure. My guess is that it wasn't granted though.
