Review: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was an enjoyable piece of fan fiction. The zombies weave themselves into the story so naturally It seems likes it's always been written this way. Elizabeth and her sisters are sent to China to learn the dark art of killing zombies and they return to their home to keep the village safe. In this version Darcy is against Jane and Mr. Bingley's marriage because he believes she's a zombie but really it's Charlotte who is afflicted with the dead raising plague. I've only read a few pieces of P&P fan fiction but I have to say that this one made me laugh the most. It's silly but that what makes it so much fun to read. That being said I don't think that I'll be reading Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters since I haven't read the original. This is a recommended read if you love a quirky re-tellings of old classics.

BookBlips: vote it up!
