Hello everyone and thank you, Monie, for having me as a guest on your site. I am very sincere in my thanks to you for being a reader and for maintaining a website to promote writers. Which brings me to the topic of my discussion today: The importance of my readers?
And I’m not talking about those little books that taught me to recognize the difference in See and Spot and Run in first grade. I mean you folks who have read or plan to read my books. To those who love romance books and who spread the word.
To those of you who pick up a copy of my newest book Lucky in Love in the library or at the bookstore. Here’s hoping you see that hunky cowboy on the cover and flip it over to read the teaser on back. And then turn it back to see the cover again and wonder if the words inside live up to the cover. I surely hope so. I wouldn’t want to disappoint a reader because you are very important to me as a writer.
To those who actually take my book home and don’t shift it to the bottom of their “to be read” pile. But find a favorite chair and begin to read even before you even tear the wrapper off that imported chocolate bar you bought in a moment of weak temptation. I hope you become so engrossed in Lucky in Love that you forget about the chocolate for a little while.
To those who to post a review for others on a website after you’ve read the book. I appreciate you taking time from your busy schedule to write a little about Lucky in Love and how it affected you. If it made you forget that chocolate bar altogether that’s as wonderful as having my name called to come forward and accept an award for the book!
To those who pass my book on to someone else. Bless your unselfish hearts! Enjoy that chocolate now and because of your sweet heart it shall not have one calorie or fat gram.
To those of you who’ve fallen in love with Beau Luckadeau and Milli Torres, the main characters in Lucky in Love and can’t stand to part with their copy of the book. But you tell everyone who’ll stand still and listen about this new series being published by Sourcebooks called the Lucky series. (One Lucky Cowboy, November 2009; Getting Lucky, 2010) Word of mouth is the best advertising in the world. Thank you for telling all your friends and neighbors about Lucky in Love. A quick funny story: Twelve years ago I sold my first book to Kensington and a local minister mentioned it from the pulpit on Sunday morning. The next week not a single copy of it could be found in this area of Oklahoma. Word of mouth works, whether over the back yard fence, at the beauty shop or even church.
To those of you who read blogs and comment on them. It’s a cog in the wheel that promotes books and lets readers know what you think of them. Make a pot of coffee or a cup of tea and have a whole box of chocolate donuts along with that chocolate bar. You’ve worked hard and deserve it!
To all of you, we as writers, put our hands together and applaud you. Keep reading. Keep telling everyone about what you read. Keep posting reviews. Know that writers appreciate you and your time.
Without you we’d soon find ourselves on the endangered species list.
So what are you reading today? If you suddenly had a copy of Lucky in Love in your hands, would you lay aside your chocolate and read about that sexy cowboy on the cover and how Milli suddenly turned his luck around?
Lucky in Love—in stores September!
When hunky rancher "Lucky Beau" Luckadeau accuses spitfire Milli Torres of stealing his prize bull, she promptly shoots at him, triggering a feud that only gets resolved when they discover they share a steamy hot memory from a night long ago...
It was a night of passion that has always haunted Lucky. The mysterious beauty he seduced at a cousin's wedding disappeared. He's always been lucky at cards, lucky
with cattle, and lucky with land, but he's never been lucky in love.
Now Milli Torres has come to southern Oklahoma to help out on her grandfather's ranch. A cut fence and a big, mean Angus bull in the pasture are bad enough, but then she looks up and sees Beau Luckadeau. Great God Almighty, how did he get from Louisiana to Ardmore, Oklahoma, and what in the hell is she going to do if he recognizes her?

Everyone knows MY MOMMA (Carolyn Brown) writes books and they are the bestest! I have my own copy, but it will be loaned out more times than I want to think about. If I won a copy, I could keep MY copy and loan out this one.
And, Momma, if I could get to you today, I'd take up up on that sweet tea and chocolate brownie...'cause as good a writer as you are, you are an even better cook! Love ya.

I just love cowboys and let me tell you...I saw plenty in North Dakota on my vacation last month. Would love to sit back and read this and just dream about the boys...cowboys.
This sounds like the perfect story for me to read while living here in Oklahoma! Ardmore is just down the road :) Any story that goes well with chocolate has to be a great one! Thanks for the chance!

I'll ditto what Amy said about if she won a book... I wouldn't have to loan mine out if I won one of these. :0)
I read this book last Saturday and LOVED it! Great writing (by my Mama :0) and the characters are full of enough sass to scare a rattlesnake outta the outhouse.
Hey Mama ~ no one called to tell me there were brownies! I'm surprised my fat cells didn't sniff them out. :0) But seriously... you gotta let a girl know these things before it's too late to do anything about it.
