A Tale of two Shakespeares...

Struggling UC Santa Cruz grad student Willie Shakespeare Greenberg is trying to write his thesis about the Bard. Kind of...

Cut off by his father for laziness, and desperate for dough, Willie agrees to deliver a single giant, psychedelic mushroom to a mysterious collector, making himself an unwitting target in Ronald Reagan's War on Drugs.

Meanwhile, would-be playwright (and oppressed Catholic) William Shakespeare is eighteen years old and stuck teaching Latin in the boondocks of Stratford-upon-Avon. The future Bard's life is turned upside down when a stranger entrusts him with a sacred relic from Rome... This, at a time when adherents of the "Old Faith" are being hanged, drawn, and quartered as traitors.

Seemingly separated in time and place, the lives of Willie and William begin to intersect in curious ways, from harrowing encounters with the law (and a few ex-girlfriends) to dubious experiments with mind-altering substances. Their misadventures could be dismissed as youthful folly. But wise or foolish, the bold choices they make will shape not only the 'Shakespeare' each is destined to come... but the very course of history itself.

I love both cats and dogs. I still miss my dog who died almost 8 years ago :( Our cat died just 3 years ago. We haven't gotten another pet because we've been moving, building, and doing a lot of traveling. When we get back to our permanent home in Montana next year, the first thing on our to do list is find a cat friend!! We probably won't get another dog for awhile, though, cause we still have some traveling to do.

I read a Pride and Prejudice inspired story with the same name My Name is Will. Of course it refers to Fitzwilliam Darcy, rather than William Shakespeare. It's a pity Shakespeare is not as handsome as Mr. Darcy in my eyes. But I bet with his creative talent, Shakespeare must had a lot of women falling for him too. Seems a great story Jess. Congratulations!

Oh forgot to mention, I'm a cat lover. They have character and talent. But when my cat died 30 years ago after a fight, I was heart-broken and vowed not to have another one. But you never know, maybe when I reach 60 and feel lonely, I'll get another one.

I rescue stray cats and pay out of pocket to get shots, and have them fixed before rehoming them. Not to mention the 4 inside cats I have and 3 strays who live on my porch and can't be rehomed (a little too feral - they are however fixed).

So it would seem I'm a cat person. Alas I also have a working dog (I'm deaf). There is nothing closer than that type of connection. I think I tread lightly between being both a cat and dog lover.

    +1 I'm also subscribed.

    Thanks for the giveaway! Indigo

I love both cats and dogs, but am allergic to cats now. I now have two toy poodles...my babies. The Siamese cat I once had taught himself to use the toilet. No one believed me when I told them, until they saw it with their own eyes. Siamese cats are not mean, they're loveable and very smart. Real talkers too.
